How It Works
You know when you try to click a real element - like a play button, search bar, or link/video, and instead it opens a spam tab? BLKBEARD detects when the click you made wasn’t your intended action. If it identifies the click as a deceptive trigger, it immediately takes action to neutralize the spam and keep your session on track.

Setup
To ensure the extension runs at its best, please follow these simple steps after downloading:

1. Pin BLKBEARD to Chrome: Click the puzzle-piece icon in the top-right corner of Chrome, then click the pin next to BLKBEARD. The button will now appear on your toolbar, ensuring easy access to the built-in features.

2. Enable BLKBEARD in Incognito: Go to chrome://extensions/, find BLKBEARD, click Details, and toggle “Allow in Incognito” on. This lets BLKBEARD protect you while browsing in Incognito mode.

Once the extension is pinned to your browser, clicking on it will reveal three options:

Mark as Spam: Blocks the current site and reports it to our system to help improve the extension. Use this if a hijacked redirect was missed.

False Positive: Reopens the last tab that was automatically closed by BLKBEARD and adds it to your local “safe list,” preventing it from being closed in the future. Use this when the extension mistakenly flags a legitimate action.

By utilizing these, the extension's ability and accuracy will improve as you use it.

Turn On/Off Turns the extension on or off without having to visit your Chrome extensions page.

What makes BLKBEARD different to traditional ad blockers?
BLKBEARD is built specifically to combat the malicious spam, traps, and deceptive elements common on streaming and other unsafe sites—things traditional ad blockers simply aren’t designed to handle.

This type of spam doesn’t follow legal or safety guidelines. Traditional ad blockers aren’t designed to stop it, since they mainly target standard, rule-abiding ads.

Does BLKBEARD work ONLY for streaming/unsafe sites?
No, the extension works on all sites and automatically protects against annoying or malicious spam/content whenever it's detected.

AI?
AI serves two roles in the BLKBEARD extension:

1. It quickly evaluates content flagged by our filters to estimate how likely it is to be harmful.

2. We use AI to analyze sites reported by users via the “Mark as Spam” button to identify patterns, helping the extension improve and catch similar threats in the future.

Will BLKBEARD slow down my browser?
No. BLKBEARD is designed to run efficiently in the background. There won’t be any slowdown while browsing.

Can I use BLKBEARD on my phone?
Currently, BLKBEARD is only optimized for desktop browsers.
